As an educator I have to agree with the online graduate degree program reviews posted before me here. This is a top online library science degree program. Compare it to the distance masters offered online at U Illinois Champlain Urbana. Syracuse University's School of Information Studies is a founding institution, along with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's Graduate School of Library and Information Science, of the Web-based Information Science Education (WISE) Consortium. WISE allows students enrolled in library and information science programs at participating institutions to take online courses at any other participating institution. It is ALA accredited of course and a standard setter for online education for librarians in the USA and abroad.

I have been really impressed by the outgoing, enthusiastic, and open-minded people in the Syracuse iSchool. Particularly amongst the LIS faculty, there is a huge push towards teaching students to be capable of handling change and tough situations. Students are encouraged to be innovative and to engage in local, national, and international endeavors and conversations. Though technology is not considered the be all and end all of librarianship at SU, it is not ignored and is readily available in the classrooms. It really is a fun program, with a lot of opportunities for students!
