I have been enrolled in SJSU-SLIS since 2009. With a full-time job and family, SLIS has afforded me the ability to pursue my MLIS in a challenging but extremely supportive environment. Taking advantage of the synchronous on-line sessions and through group work, I have created an international network of associates. The school is progressive, more than up to date and ambitious towards being cutting edge in both content and delivery. Again, the support has been second to none - through being assigned a mentor the first few weeks, through continuous technology support via peers and faculty guidance and assistance, I do not feel isolated. I was surprised that SJSU-SLIS was not on your list of top on-line MLIS schools.
San Jose state university is a place of great education. Students there are most definitely serious about their education and when you're learning a library science academics is important. It's not secondary importance.
My friend actually completed the library science degree (no matter how much we made fun of her). :) She said it was good, thorough, and highly useful. The costs weren't too high and the classes had a decent availability. She was able to complete them while working full time, though they kept her pretty busy. She had great resources though, through the school and through her professors.

This degree is a very flexible degree. Seven years are allowed to finish and students may take as little as one class a term. Registering for classes is easy and the information on classes provided by the school prior to registration is satisfactory. There are many course selections on a variety of library science topics and the professors overall have been helpful and competent.
