Sponsored Description: Wherever you live and work, you’re in the right place to advance your knowledge, skills, and training with a graduate degree from Nova Southeastern University's Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences. Our distance-learning students reside in every U.S. state and 20 foreign countries. As a master’s degree student, you can take online courses, traditional evening classes on our main campus, or a combination of both–and earn your degree in as few as 12 months. With quality degree programs and flexible delivery formats, we will prepare you for leadership roles in the information technology field. Online master’s degree programs require no campus attendance and are available to both part-time and full-time students. Ph.D. students, while taking online courses, attend four on-campus sessions per year (two on campus sessions for the Ph.D. in Computing Technology in Education degree program), held quarterly over an extended weekend. The on-campus sessions are tremendous opportunities to network with industry leaders, professors, and classmates through engaging seminars, dissertation counseling, and intensive courses on advanced topics. Between sessions, you can participate in online activities. We have been honored as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education by the U.S. National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.

Nova has put together a well-rounded curriculum for their IS doctorate program. Not every program is recognized by the NSA, and their focus on information security can be applied towards multiple career paths.
That said, the total tuition for the program runs over $52,000. And along with the tuition, the residency requirements (4 visits a year to Florida) can be costly as well, depending on where you're traveling from. Money aside, scheduling 4 trips a year can be difficult for those who don't have a flexible schedule due to other obligations (ex. family, work, etc.).
Nova's PhD in IS is a solid program, but the cost and travel requirements should be factored in when choosing this degree.
