My undergraduate was in Liberal Arts, and my career is in naval warfare support, so I needed a graduate program which could not only supplement my all-too-often-underestimated degree while compliment my career. This program lives up to my expectations, and actually is quite better than I had anticipated. The staff is very knowledgeable and supportive, and classmates form a quick bond by their sheer need to lead! The books read like novels rather than manuals (per the norm) and the movies are great to analyze - it really opens up your eyes to everyday situations wherein you can begin to read people, their motives, and maintain risk management. There are great opportunities to attend various lectures and seminars through teleconference; and the weekly chat, while annoying at first, now leaves me feeling refreshed - you have the chance to voice your thoughts and debate with your classmates and professor. The best part is: you actually learn something! I can't recall how many classes I've been forced to take wherein I learned absolutely nothing pertaining to my interests or career field. This program identifies with every student because it is the student who provides the background story, and the theories and principles are applied to each individual; it is encouraged to have varying results and the occasional disagreement. It is also easily completed while working full-time, very manageable and utilizes time efficiently - meaning there is no froo-froo filler junk they teach you or require from you, just simple attendance, weekly chat, and a minimal amount of assignments (in my opinion). I am finishing my 2nd class now, and look forward to the remaining 10. If MSU continues to provide this quality of education, I will expect to see their nationwide reputation advance rapidly.

This program completely met my needs. I was looking for a development opportunity that would offer a challenge and reawaken my passion for leadership. I found the faculty very supportive and the curriculum quite insightful!

I believe it is a good program from what I hear from others involved in it. Regardless of your background, the material is designed to get you to learn from it and from each other. I hear there is a lot of work including reading, writing, case studies, papers and teams which one must become really dedicated to. It's fast paced like a moving train but worth it once you get to your destination.

Enrolled in Dec 2007 and from the very first day online I knew my enrollment advisor had lied to me. EVERYONE in my class was either a cop, FBI, CIA, narc, special forces, etc. and I was the ONLY salesman. Some diversification...NOT. The college subsequently dropped me right before I was to receive my financial aid. They told me I didn't "log on" enough times during the week. The pace was EXTREMELY fast. From my experience I would NOT recommend this college. The price was right, but my classmates were NOT who I expected them to be. I was expecting MORE diversifcation as far as the professions of each student. I felt like I had NOTHING in common with a cop, or an FBI agent, or some special undercover narc. And I did not, I'm a sales consultant. My grade for this school would be as follows: F for failing to tell me the truth at time of enrollment. D for discharging me from school, C for being cowards and NOT returning my phone calls.
