Teachers of any age should inspect this program! This is the ideal structure for a degree that presents a broad understanding on what technology is, how to use technology in the classroom, and how to facilitate education with this knowledge (merging theory with practice).
Although a younger (age) teacher may feel they have a solid grasp on technology and therefore they can simply add it to their classroom, these same young teachers do not have the professional experience yet to manipulate technology for all the learning styles that exists within a classroom.
The M.ED Technology degree from Lesley University does a great job of addressing this issue by allowing the educator to elect for subject specific courses towards the closing of their degree.
This reviewer, whom has been an IT Director for a school district, has taught in the classroom, and has been responsible for bringing technology into the classroom of a school that had actually stopped teaching "computers"; highly recommends any potential educator to check out this program!
Lesley University is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Formerly known as Lesley College with the title of University it earns more prestige. It is a great school with options for busy professionals. The program I went to was one weekend a month- Friday night, Saturday and Sunday all day. The professors understood that we had lives outside of school but still pushed us to learn. The University has continued to be helpful even though I am no longer a student there. I would highly recommend Lesley University.
