Goddard College touts they offer a "progressive education for creative minds". While there is no indication to doubt this, and every indication to believe it, there is one concern for a college that touts itself as "progressive". The college is missing a national accreditation. It should be noted this Goddard does hold regional accreditation. If you are a learner who wants a short stay at a campus each semester, then to return home and complete the course work on your own while working with mentors and faculty advisors, Goddard College presents a good option for you. The new BA in Sustainability program covers some interesting topics but presents little that a learner could not gain through a mentor from within the profession itself. Factoring in the non-accredited nature of this degree, the cost, and the lack of in-class hands-on training, the learner would be best suited to seek volunteer work with a non-profit that focuses on their selected environmental area or to work with a for-profit company that is on the cutting edge of "sustainability".
