This is a high-quality online MS degree in Computer Science that is taught by tenured or tenure-track Computer Science faculty.

Thia degree from GSU only concentrates on one area, DB and knowledge systems, which means the students come out well prepared in a highly desirable technology.

I'd like to echo the comments of jrainy... I'd pay more for streamed lectures and what not. Perhaps videos of on campus lectures can be recorded and used. That's my only recommendation. My biggest complaint is the delivery system is the old WebCT (BlackBoard learning system) which is just trash. The curriculum is database, data-warehousing and overall data-centric. So expect that. Those classes are particularly advanced and the other (non-data heavy) classes are not so advanced. The professors are very knowledgeable and very accommodating to the working professionals in the program. GSU has a pretty sizable background in education. It has a decent reputation and is the 5th largest university in the Georgia University system behind UGA and a bunch of schools in the Atlanta area. Ga Southern is not anywhere near Atlanta so that should say something about its popularity. The workload given did not seem unbearable to me. And I, like most others, am fully employed.

I love the low cost of the degree, but would quickly pay more to be able to have recorded or even streamed lectures. The module based system implemented by GSU's CompSci Masters program is comparable to that of DeVry University's. Very little student teacher interaction. Also, the quantity of busy work that they assign does not in any way make up for the lack of conceptual quality I expected out of the assignments. In fact, for those of us who are already employed full time the quantity makes the degree quite unbearable.

I was looking for an accredited online MS in CS degree when I stumbled upon this website and read the reviews of GSU's program. There are so many degree mills, for-profit institutions and fake degree programs out there that it can be hard to determine if a school is legit or not when it comes to online degrees. This one is legit. GSU is part of the public University system of Georgia and is a respectable institution. They have an on campus MS program as well that has been going on longer then the online program. After taking classes I can say that communication is great and the assignments make sure you fully comprehend the subject matter. The professors are very quick to respond to any questions and are extremely helpful. There is required class discussions and team projects that allow you to learn from each other instead of just from a textbook. I've really enjoyed my time here so far and am looking forward to finishing the degree! Anyone looking to get a MS in CS should consider GSU's program. It is very affordable and offers a great quality of education.

The online program at Georgia Southern has been a tremendously good experience for me. The convenience of the online program has allowed me to continue my education while still being able to work full-time.

As a student who is starting to program with no prior knowledge, I've had a really great experience learning from the Georgia Southern MSCS professors. I never thought I would be able to learn to code basic programs in three months. Great value in the program and I love the online format.

The program is excellent it perfectly fits my busy schedule . The professors are always available and the courses are as much stimulating as they are challenging. Also the subject is absolutely relevant to the current trends in technology :data mining, data warehousing..etc which all fall under the umbrella term (and buzz) Big Data .

I like the Master of Science in Computer Science at Georgia Southern University because it is very affordable. I looked at other online Computer Science programs and they were way out of my price range. I also like the online program because it makes it easier to go to school and still keep my fulltime job. I also like the emphasis in Data Mining and Data Warehousing. The cost of tuition and the emphasis in database design, data mining, and data warehousing made my decision to select Georgia Southern University for a master in Computer Science very easy.

I like that the courses are purely online. The quality of teaching, study materials provided and projects are ideal and in line with current industry trends and directions.
