Unlike going to universities and other colleges where you just hear the professor lecture and expect to learn everything, at Excelsior, students are encouraged to communicate with each other through postings of examples of what we have learned for the assigned readings each week. With a hectic life of work and raising kids, I was also able to perform my classroom exercises at virtually any time. The classrooms offer a self paced environment although some deadlines have to be met. Responses from professors were fairly quick to respond to questions or problems that may arise. As a veteran, I would highly recommend this college to military as the college is military friendly and a degree is much more obtainable than a standard college.
Since I am currently active on duty,I sought to find a program that would enable me the flexibility to study and sit for my examinations at the most convenient times. I have had prior experience in online studies since I undertook my bachelor’s degree completely online. I managed to balance out my time to give classes enough time to complete, this experience with Excelsior worked to my advantage considering my full time working schedule. The online studies afforded me the convenience of studying at my free time. From this point of view, I know that I would like to use the same method to study for my master’s degree. My ability to work with others in a virtual environment is thus well developed in my virtual interactions with both Excelsior's faculty and fellow students while attending. Most of the Instructors had PHDs from prestigious Institutions and the Programs of Instructions was from real world Scenarios, Anyone seeking a degree (especially military) would definitely benefit from Excelsior College. If there was ever a time to cease an opportunity toward education Excelsior is it, every institution I looked up accepted Excelsior credits.
Strong Work, Ever Upward!
Note: Excelsior is also Regionally Accredited and the Business School is in the process of getting a specialized accreditation.

For the student whom is an undergraduate, desires to give themselves a focal edge, and prefers options for their studies within a field, the Excelsior College business degrees are a good choice.
While many schools offer dual BA/MBA programs, few exist that allow specializations at an early stage within the learners curriculum progression.
With specializations that cover the major organizational structure of any business, this program is a solid choice!

Excelsior was an excellent choice for me to complete a B.S. from a quality school. They allowed maximum transfer credits into the program and offered a wide array of options to complete my degree requirement. Plus my advisors provided great support throughout the program. My B.S. from Excelsior motivated me to also complete a graduate degree and embark on a new career path. I highly recommend Excelsior to students looking for high quality, great reputation, reasonable price and a flexible distance learning format.

I first heard about Excelsior College back in the late 80's when it was Regents College through a patient that came into our office. It happened to be the Commissioner of Education in NY!! He was very generous with his time and actually gave me catalogs from his brief case. At that time I was 15 credits short of my BA. I just had no more energy to finish school and stopped going. As I researched distance education, I did come across Thomas Edison State College. I chose Excelsior College because I was able to take courses to fulfill my requirements from schools all over the country. This allowed me to keep my costs low. I think that Thomas Edison State College offered its own classes, but since I was out-of-state, I think the tuition was higher for me. Also, Excelsior College does a wonderful job evaluating transfer credits. They also offer their own classes and you can still take classes from other schools. (YES, there is a huge gap of time from the late 80's to 2001 when I enrolled in Excelsior COllege, but I always kept this info on the back burner until I was ready. And in 2001 I was older, disciplined and ready to study. I have been taking online classes ever since and it is my preferred way to learn!!!) Good Luck.
