The Bachelor of Science in Professional and Technical Communication combines courses in rhetoric, writing, communication and digital arts and design to provide you with a degree that prepares you for a multitude of careers. Graduates are able to prepare and disseminate scientific and technical information to a variety of audiences using a range of computer-mediated modes and channels. Nationally, the need for skilled graduates in preparing technical documents is increasing. As industries become more technologically advanced, there has been a change in the way documents are created and distributed resulting in an increasing demand for employees that have a combination of skills in writing and knowledge of computer-based technologies. Students take classes in technical writing, documentation and presentation, webdesign, usability testing, technical publishing and visual rhetoric to develop these skills and build their knowledge base. You can also specialize your degree by taking a variety of electives in web development, storytelling, storyboarding and other areas. Technically, we’re better.
