This program is listed as a Master of Science in Business Administration, but the courses are geared toward the IT professional. The 30 credit program offers options for a thesis or capstone project. The degree is optimal for a student seeking the middle ground between an MBA and an MS in Computer Science.
The program is from a respected state institution with broad recognition in the western US. It's tuition is competitive, and lower than most online IS/IT programs from similar schools.
This program is a great option for a student seeking an affordable graduate education from a reputable and recognizable school.
I am in my second semester at CSU Online MBA program. So far this program has far exceeded my expectation. This is a very well run program and so far pretty flexible. Students are from all over the USA and many are from different parts of the world with very diverse backgrounds. CSU's distance MBA program is one of the oldest and they really know what they are doing. The reasons why I chose CSU MBA: 100% online, well respected and nationally ranked brick and mortar public school, AACSB accredited, No GMAT, reasonable cost, one of the oldest distance MBA, and well run program.
This EMBA PROGRAM HAS TOO MANY STUDENTS, with some classes having 400 plus students.
Lectures are not very well organized.
Professors are not approachable. DSC are handling classes. Some of them have no clue about class material. Response time is also late and not coherent!
After each class they have a professor evaluation, which is a joke....no one will act on recommendations or concerns. You will not get any feed back.
You really have to watch your student tuition bill. Accounts department will charge you *extra*. It took me 40 emails and THREE months to get charges off! Very very hard to get a response!!
In the 2011 semester laptops were added by the school in the online MBA program without asking student. Students paid for them dearly in form of a tuition increase.
They used to mail CD's for lectures, which were nice. Now they don't do that. So if you want to save lectures, a download has to be done. Just imagine each class has 10 lectures. If someone needs a CD it is an extra cost!
I am sorry to say, just like many colleges, CSU is also geared towards getting many students in the program to make money. Some classes have 400 plus students!
I got my laptop after 23 emails and after 3 months of no sense communications with everyone.
The Colorado State University Distance MBA offers the best in distance education. An engaging "classroom" environment that challenges and engages the distant student, superb professors who are passionate about not only their subject matter, but teaching their students, and a rigorous academic curriculum.
Overall, this program brings you as close to being part of a "bricks and mortar" MBA as possible without driving to campus.
Thank you CSU!

Extremely well run program with faculty professors. I have enjoyed my time in the program and would recommend it to anyone.
