Students in this program typically work with Individuals diagnosed with mental health problems, individuals diagnosed with substance abuse problems, the elderly, those with developmental disabilities in community or residential/correctional settings, and governmental or nongovernmental agencies. Coursework covers research, intervention strategies, philosophy and principles of rehabilitation, administration and other subjects. Because the M.S. in Rehabilitative Sciences is not a clinical degree (e.g., leading to licensure as a professional counselor), it does not require practicum experiences. Normally, it can be completed within two years and is available fully online. You also have the option to attend classes in person on the Clarion campus us you live in the area.
