I would recommend Chadron State College to anyone. I feel that the education I received has prepared me for my future. The 8-week format keeps you busy and focused. You really have to be prepared before the classes start both mentally and by having your books. You can easily fall behind if you are not prepared. Most of my professors have sent me e-mail notifications letting me know what book I will need and the importance of having it before the classes start.
I believe the online classes are high-quality learning. You interact with other students through discussion boards. Another way you interact is when the professors provide feedback on your assignments. This feedback helps you do better on the next assignment. Some professors will even let you make corrections to turn back in for a better grade.
The professors are always willing to help you as long as you make the effort to contact them. If you expect them to contact you because you are not doing well, it probably will not happen. When you are not face to face you can not see the student’s reactions so as a student you need to be pro-active and ask for help. This is college and professors are teaching you how to be responsible and time management skills, so that you will be prepared for your future.
Overall the grade I am giving is an A-. This is because I did have some classes where I felt they should have either been longer than 8 weeks or the learning objectives should have been different. I felt like the class barely got into the material with just 8 weeks and that there was more learning to be done for me to fully understand the subject.
