Ashford University will admit anyone. They admit students who cannot even write at a junior high school level. Ashford University is not worth time money or effort. There are better and less expensive options out there.

This is a for-profit institution that has a physical campus in Iowa, but almost all of the students are online students. The costs are higher than some other online programs for comparable degrees.

It's an online degree from a for-profit university. For many recruiters, that's two strikes against it. However, for someone who already has a strong resume, the degree can be the difference that gives them the edge over other candidates. If you are already in a well-paying job or work in government/education, this program might be worth the cost. Also, if your employer is paying for it, the program can be a good value. If not, you may want to explore other programs. A close relative graduated from this program two years ago and is making less money than when she started it, and now has to pay the student loans for it. Although it's a legitimate degree from an accredited institution, there are programs from state schools that may be a better overall value, even if they cost a little more.

I received my under graduate degree from another institution via traditional and online courses; if I knew what I know now about Ashford, I would have finished my undergraduate degree with Ashford. I'm in the MBA program, challenging, it's what you put into the program. If you want to learn and earn a degree, you can with Ashford. I've read some of the work from other students, I wounder what kinds of grades they get at times. Overall, I read and study my textbooks, do research papers and participate in group discussions...abut the same as a traditional college class. The challenge is to be motivated to do my homework...and read the crazy amount of reading that is required (my current textbook has over 1500 pages). I look forward to visiting the campus for graduation.

I earned my undergrad at Ashford and I am now working on my MBA. I have to admit, the curriculum is very difficult, but not so difficult as to make it impossible. However, you definetly have to want it. All of my instructors have terminal degrees in their fields (i.e. Ph.D, D.B.A., etc.). To top it off, the school is very affordable and the administration is very easy to communicate. They assigned me an enrollment advisor, an academic advisor, and a financial advisor; so you don't have to deal with the same person all the time. Plus, they have a traditional campus in Clinton, IA. Most online schools operate out of an office; this one has a sprawling university and you get to go there when you graduate!
