This program takes first-year students and places them on a team with others who have expressed an interest in a similar field. The team then works with a company and its representatives to complete a project that addresses an issue they are facing. At the conclusion of the project the team is able to present their findings and solutions to company executives. This program offers a valuable education in real world business and a great asset to any resume. Post On: December 31, 2011 Grade: D While promoting the fact that Sierra Magazine named Green Mountain College the Greenest in the Country its website tells me very little about the MBA program. Without much depth and an overuse of buzz words such as environmental sustainability and social justice, this program gives the impression the core of the program could be lacking in what one would expect from an MBA program. Post On: December 31, 2011 Grade: B+ While New Charter University is a newer school having been in existence for less than 20 years that is not a reason to disqualify this from ones MBA considerations. Offering an online MBA at a very reasonable cost the program and offerings from New Charter are worthy of one looking into further especially if a desire is to compete an MBA education quickly and debt free. Post On: December 29, 2011 Grade: B While the website at Bay Path College isn't very visually impressive they do offer a unique informational webinar feature for those considering the Master of Science in Higher Education program. Since this program is offered entirely online it will be important to see how well they utilize current technology and this may help answer that. If you are even remotely considering Bay Path it would be wise to spend an hour and take advantage of this webinar. Post On: December 29, 2011 Grade: D I believe there are a number of good certificate programs available and based on the field and industry some can be very beneficial but I do not believe this is one of them. If you are seriously interested in starting a small business get your "education" at the library or online (blogs, podcasts etc.) FREE. If you still have concerns about accounting or marketing for your business consider a course at your local community college. There is nothing note worthy about the Champlain College program except for the cost. Post On: December 29, 2011 Grade: B- The Master of Business Administration program at Strayer University focuses on four key learning objectives of strategy, functions, leadership and environment. Offering numerous concentrations the program at Strayer is clearly developed to help one advance within their chosen career path. While geared for the working professional the website claims most graduates complete the program part-time in 4.5 years which is not beneficial to the learner because it instills a slow and steady mentality in a fast pace business world. Post On: December 20, 2011 Grade: A In this reviewers opinion Full Sail is a rare example of a for-profit private university that is truly investing in reaching the next generation of student and the careers and passions that interest them. No longer do you get a degree in Marketing you get a degree in Internet Marketing. Included in this is the Master of Science degree in Entertainment Business. With courses such as Executive Management and Advanced Entertainment Law a student can gain a broad understanding of not only the entertainment industry but business management in general while pursuing their passion. Post On: December 20, 2011 Grade: B With a number of study options including traditional (on campus) undergraduate, adult education classes, and online degree classes Belhaven University's School of Business could be a great option for someone seeking a business degree from a Christian University. The school has built a solid reputation over the years and students graduate having received an education that is Biblically focused and that will stay with them for years to come. Unfortunately, like most private Christian Universities costs are high, and a large percentage of graduates tend to graduate with debt. Post On: December 19, 2011 Grade: B+ While numerous nursing programs have lengthy wait lists Grand Canyon University boasts they do not have a wait list for those looking to complete their RN to BSN education online. In addition, they seem to be very willing to work with transfer students who may have found it difficult to finish their education at another university. With smaller class sizes and options for both full-time and part-time students the only downside to the program could be seen as the tuition. Tuition isn't cheap but still on par with other private universities. Post On: December 19, 2011 Grade: C+ Like most online MBA programs Florida Gulf Coast University requires applicants to take the GMAT. They use a combination of GMAT score and GPA x 200 to configure acceptance which must meet a 1050 requirement. Recent changes to enrollment now list the minimum GMAT score (as of Spring 2012) at 450. While in-state tuition costs are what one would expect for a MBA program out of state fees are exorbitant and one would be wise to look elsewhere if they are a non-resident of Florida. Forum
