The Urshan Graduate School of Theology, located in Florisant, MO is owned and operated by the United Pentecostal Church International. UGST was founded in 2001 as a Oneness Pentecostal seminary, and is the countries only accredited Apostolic Pentecostal graduate institution, and is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada.
UGST’s mission is to provide men and women of the Apostolic faith with training development, advanced studies and a research center that will further them to Christian Service. The UGST serves the United Pentecostal Church International and the Apostolic movement by offering training and leadership development to preachers, pastors, chaplains, teachers, missionaries and other specialized ministries.
The school's objectives include developing men and women who can effectively evangelize others that do not know Jesus Christ, and are prepared to use their teaching, counseling and caring to disciple saints, cultivating a spiritual environment that enhances the development of individuals of integrity who will integrate spiritual, emotional, moral and intellectual wholeness into their lives, serving as a graduate and continuing education center through offering on campus and distance-learning opportunities, and serves as a scholarly resource that is used for the exploration and proclamation of the Apostolic faith.
UGST explores the needs of an ever-changing world, and works to develop ministries that proclaim the gospel and preserve apostolic doctrine and practice for future generations.
UGST offers three degree programs which are a Master of pinity, Master of Arts in Christian Ministry and Master of Theological Studies. The Master of Arts in Christian Ministry is offered on-campus, and through distance learning and the Master of Theological Studies is offered on campus, and partially through distance learning. The Master of pinity is the only program that doesn’t have an online option.
The distance learning program is fully integrated with on-campus programs, which allows students to combine on-campus courses, short term courses and online courses to complete the requirements for the Master of Theological Studies or for the Master of Arts in Christian ministry. The distance learning program is a convenient, flexible way for students to receive an education. Online courses are taught by qualified and experienced apostolic faculty. To be a successful distance learner, students must be organized, self disciplined and self motivated. Distance learning is delivered through Final Site, which creates a web classroom that allows students to interact with one another, communicate with professors through discussion boards and live classes, and uploaded lectures.
Admission to UGST is based on considerations that include Christian character, which is proven by membership and active participation in church, recommendations from Christian leaders, and compatibility with the Urshan Graduate Schools state purposes, commitment to Christian service, which is proven by writing an essay that describes the students call to Christian service, stating vocational goals, and interviewing with a member of the Urshan Graduate School of Theology Admissions Committee, and academic readiness that includes an overall GPA of at least 2.7, and an acceptable GRE score.
