School Details
The University of Missouri was founded in 1839 in Columbia as the first public university west of the Mississippi River. In large part, MU’s quality can be traced to Missouri’s comprehensive view of education. While other states created separate research and land-grant institutions, Missouri combined its research and land-grant efforts into one university. As the state’s largest and most comprehensive university, Mizzou has more than 300 degree programs, including more than 85 online degrees, through 13 colleges and schools. It is one of only a few public universities nationwide that can claim a medical school, a veterinary medicine college, and a law school on the same campus.
Missouri Online is founded on the world-class academic strength of the four institutions of the University of Missouri System (Mizzou, UMKC, Missouri S&T, and UMSL). The collective reputation, resources, and inspired brilliance of these institutions combine to provide students with an education that will transform their lives. The same faculty who teach on campus develop these online programs. Flexibility is prioritized with these online degrees. Instead of students changing their schedules, Missouri Online builds around them.
