School Details

Rooted in preparing students for the business world, Professor J. A. Smith opened Stevens-Henager College in Ogden-West Haven, Utah, in 1891. Initially known as the Intermountain Business College, the college progressed through a series of name changes until it officially changed to Stevens-Henager College in 1959. Today, the private, for-profit coeducational Stevens-Henager College has ten campus/satellite locations throughout Utah and Idaho, as well as an online campus. Students can enroll in online, on-campus, or hybrid classes to complete their degree. Stevens-Henager College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.

Stevens-Henager College offers online Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs, along with certificates, in the fields of healthcare, business, information technology and graphic arts. Students pursuing a degree in healthcare have eight different Bachelor of Science degree choices and three Master of Science possibilities. Choosing the Bachelor of Science Nursing degree enables current RNs to further their education completing 22 courses in 20 months. The Nursing Administration Master of Science degree prepares current nurses for careers in management in as little as 15 months. Stevens-Henager also provides more than ten business degree options ranging from Associate’s to Master’s degree levels. Degrees like the Bachelor of Science in Accounting or the Business Administration with a New Media Marketing emphasis can be completed in 30-36 months. Likewise, students can pursue Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science or a Health Information Management degree in the field of Information Technology in about three years. Graphic Arts majors can complete an Associate’s degree in 15-20 months or seek a Bachelor’s degree in 30-36 months.

All online degrees are equal in quality to that of on-campus degrees, but offer added 24/7 access and flexibility. Unlike traditional semester colleges with classes beginning each quarter, Stevens-Henager College offers monthly starts for courses. Students can download the course syllabus, assignments and exams from Stevens-Henager’s web platform, and contact faculty and staff via email and chat five days per week. Each student at Stevens-Henager will be assigned an academic advisor to help guide degree progress. Students will also have free access to tutoring and career services. Additionally, the Stevens-Henager Advanced Resource Center contains library databases, web resources, learning labs and e-books that are available to online learners.

Students applying to Stevens-Henager’s online undergraduate program must fulfill several requirements. To be admitted, all students must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Transcripts will need to be submitted along with the application. For those applicants interested in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Administration and the Nursing Program, students will already need to have completed sufficient college credits to begin their third year of college, in addition to having a Registered Nurse license. Prior to admissions, all applicants will need to complete the online readiness test and have Internet access. Stevens-Henager will evaluate transfer credits from accredited institutions to determine eligibility. In addition, the College may recognize eligible credit by assessment, including CLEP, DANTES, AP and Certification Credit.

Graduate applicants will need to hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, submit the application and official transcripts, have an undergraduate cumulative 2.5 GPA minimum, and submit a personal-statement essay (with the exception of international students). Graduate students will also need to complete the online readiness test and have Internet access. In addition, degree specific programs may request additional information and requirements. Some programs may request an interview and the nursing programs require participants to have a Registered Nurse license.
