Students desiring to participate in virtual coursework at Portland Community College have a variety of options, including  online degree programs, telecourses, teleweb (hybrid of telecourses and web-based courses), and interactive television classes.

ONLINE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Online classes offer working adult students the necessary flexibility to complete assignments and learn in a manner that fits their busy schedules. Online classes include for-credit and non-credit courses. For-credit online classes range in topic from Architectural Design and Drafting to Humanities and Veterinary Technology. The following programs can be completed online:

  • Health Information Management
  • Certificate in Real Estate

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Initially founded in 1961 as an adult education program, Portland Community College is a public, two-year institution of higher education. Since its opening, Portland has expanded to include four campuses, including the Cascade Campus, Rock Creek Campus, Sylvania Campus, and Southeast Campus. There are also eight academic centers that offer job training, specialized programs and a variety of transfer courses. Portland Community College operates with the mission to “advance the region’s long-term vitality by delivering accessible, quality education to support the academic, professional and personal development of the diverse students and communities it serves.”

Portland Community College offers an open admissions policy, and in-state status is granted to students residing in the states of: Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, and California. In addition to career workforce programs, and community education, students can earn the following two-year degrees.

  • Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer
  • Associate of General Studies
  • Associate of Applied Science
  • Associate of Science Teacher
  • Associate of Science Oregon Transfer in Business
STUDENT FINANCIAL AID

Students should use PCC’s school code: 003213 when completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and students should complete the application as soon after January 1 as possible. Portland Community College supports the following federal and state aid programs for qualifying students:
