Business Management – AS Degree
Penn Foster

Program Details

Penn Foster College offers a Business Management Associate of Science degree. In four semesters, students are able complete all the necessary coursework online, without the need for a classroom.

Students take an assessment test, determining the level of reading and math they retain. After the level of readiness has been determined, students receive an introduction to distance learning and are taught topics of search engines, search strategies for the Internet, and types of reference sources.

In Managerial Accounting, students learn the fundamentals of budgeting and performance, decentralized operations, and cost activities. In a college algebra course, students are taught scientific notation, graphing, polynomials, and rational expressions. The Business and Technical Writing course covers constructing business letters, memos, conducting research, providing illustrations, and documenting sources. Through the Human Resources Management course, students will study the interaction of personnel and the objectives of an organization.

Semester four covers investing in long-term assets, financial planning, American court procedures, conflict management, and basic business statistics including frequency distribution, time series analysis, index numbers, the theory of probability and statistical inference, and correlation and forecasting.

Required core courses do not account for all the credits needed to graduate. Students are expected to choose from a list of approved, specified electives, to complete a total of 12 elective credits.
