School Details

New York Medical College, a private not-for-profit institution founded in 1860, retains a reputation for its rich heritage of social and environmental concerns and commitment to research. The College consists of three schools:  the School of Medicine, the Graduate School of Basic Medical Sciences and the School of Health Sciences and Practice with an enrollment total of 1,500 plus students. The New York Medical College School of Health Sciences and Practice, located in the Westchester suburbs, minutes from New York City, offers select online graduate programs for distance learners. Programs include:

The School of Health Sciences and Practice incorporates the Institute of Public Health branch that provides outreach to external government and community organizations.  In addition, it houses the Center for Disaster Medicine, Center on Disability and Health, Center for Medical Outcomes Research and the Center for Long Term Care Research and Policy. Academic departments include Environmental Health Science, Edividemiology and Community Health and Health Policy Management.

The New York Medical College is chartered by the Regents of the State of New York and all degrees are authorized by the New York State Department of Education. The College is accredited by the Middle-States Commission on Higher Education. Specialty accreditations also include, the Council on Education in Public Health, the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education, the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, the Accreditation Commission on Graduate Medical Education and the Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education.

Prospective students applying for a Master of Public Health degree or Graduate Certificate must hold a baccalaureate degree or equivalent from an accredited institution. Prerequisite course and work requirements vary and are degree specific, however undergraduate students must enter with a 3.0 GPA minimum. In addition, an application, official transcripts, recommendations, a personal statement and resume are generally part of the application process and English proficiency (for international students only) may be required prior to admissions.

Tuition rates begin at $875 per credit hour and do not include additional fees, including application, entrance, a Maintenance of Matriculation Fee, and others.  Financial aid packages are available and include non-need based Federal Direct Graduate PLUS and Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford loans, the Veterans Administration Yellow Ribbon Program grant, and college work-study programs.
