Montgomery County Community College is a public, two year institution of higher education, with a main campus located in the city of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.
Since between founded in 1964, Montgomery County Community College has grown along with the community to help reach the lifelong learning needs of students as they progress through their academic career, and is now accredited by the Commission of Higher Education of the Middle States Association of College and Secondary Schools. Montgomery Community College has more than 30,000 successful alumni and is ranked first in the nation in its use of technology by the Center for Digital Education for 2008, 2009, and 2010. With a 21:1 student-faculty ratio, Montgomery College prides itself on its ability to work closely with students in the learning process.
As part of its mission statement, the College participates in on-going self-assessment in order to continue to improve instructional programs and services to students in the county in addition to bringing the community a “constantly changing set of learning opportunities; opportunities that grow, change, transform and multiply as the community and our learners confront and react to ever present change.”
Students who earn an AA or AS degrees at Montgomery can expect an easy transfer to numerous public and private colleges and universities in the region. The College offers a free online application, or prospective students also have the options of a mail-in application ($25 fee). Once students complete their applications, they are required to submit a transcript from their most recent secondary educational experience. The third step in the admissions process is assessing your skills. Students can submit score reports (PSAT, SAT, PSSA, AP, etc.) or college transcripts to be evaluated. If prospective students do not have these transcripts or do not have score high enough, they are required to take the College’s placement tests. Students are also encouraged to meet with an advisor and attend the College’s orientation for more information.
The College’s curriculum is comprised of 85 Associate Degree/Certificate programs in 59 areas of study, including 8 complete degrees and one certificate offered entirely online. The College also offers an Honors Program and a specialized workforce development and continuing education programs. The College’s areas of study are grouped into six divisions:

- Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics

- Workforce Development and Continuing Education
Montgomery Community College has two campuses that are conveniently located in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania and Pottstown, Pennsylvania. The main campus is the one located in Blue Bell. In addition, the college has additional learning centers in Willow Grove, Lansdale, Conshohocken, and Norristown, as well as many e-Learning options. E-learning is defined as “learning that takes place when instructors and learners are separated by time or space.” E-learning is growing in popularity for students pursuing higher education. At Montgomery, Students can currently complete Associate’s Degrees entirely online. These degrees include Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Liberal Studies, Management Information Systems, Office Administration and Secondary Education. An online Certificate in Business Management is also offered, as well as a variety of other online courses in other degree and certificate programs.
