Madonna University is a four-year private Catholic university that is located in the small city of Livonia, Michigan on the western perimeter of Detroit. This school was founded in 1937 by the Felician Sisters on the principals of the Franciscan order of the Catholic faith. Madonna University aims to provide a learning environment where a student will gain intellectual, spiritual, and personal growth to achieve success in the classroom, boardroom, and in all aspects of life. Although the college is strong in its affiliation with the Roman Catholic Church, students of many denominations attend MU.
The school offers certificates, associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, post baccalaureate certificates, master’s degrees, doctor’s degrees for professional practice, and post-master’s certificates. Over 100 undergraduate programs and 35 master’s programs are available within the seven colleges and 24 departments at Madonna University.
The school now has several extension schools located in different areas, including: southwest Detroit, Orchard Lake, Clinton Township, Michigan at the Macomb University Center, and at the University Center in Gaylord, Michigan.
Special learning opportunities available include weekend classes, evening classes, study abroad, distance learning, and teacher certification. Students are able to access remedial services, academic and career counseling services, employment services, and placement services for completers.
