Program Details

Liberty University offers a Master of Arts degree in Christian Ministry with a specialization in Leadership for students interested in learning about the roles of leaders within the church and church-related organizations. Through the program, students will learn about the biblical principles and roles of ministry, including the responsibilities of leaders to their community.

The program consists of courses that emphasize the development of leadership abilities within church and related religious organizations. Classes include Introduction to Apologetics, History of Christianity, Discipleships Ministries, Spiritual Formation, Contemporary Evangelism, Global Studies Survey, Preparation of the Sermon, New Testament Orientation, Hermeneutics, Old Testament Orientation, Introduction to Seminary Studies, Systematic Theology, Biblical Foundations of Leadership, the Life of Leaders, Team Leadership and Conflict Resolution, and Mission, Vision, and Strategic Planning.

Students will demonstrate the ability to represent themselves as educated professionals upon completing the course by meeting the qualifications that come with graduation. These qualifications include a foundational knowledge of the Bible, intended to help graduates apply biblical truth to contemporary and cultural issues; to demonstrate a competency in biblical education in order to become a more well-versed leader and professional; to demonstrate the skills necessary for effective oral, written, and visual communication, including the basic use of communications technology; and to demonstrate the leadership ability and professionalism appropriate for roles in ministry.
