School Details

In 1965, four prominent community members recognized the need for higher education in Honolulu.  They founded Hawai’i Pacific, an independent not-for-profit liberal arts school which today enrolls over eight thousand students from all fifty states and over one hundred different countries.  The online program is housed and operated by HPU’s Military Campus Program (MCP) with more than three thousand participants. The online program is available to military servicemembers, their families, Veterans, and U.S. Government civilian personnel. The program is non-sequential allowing students to enter at any point. Classes online are offered in three 5-week terms. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.  An Academic Advisor aids students with the process.

Hawaii Pacific University is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges with approval by the Hawai’i Board of Nursing and additional accreditation by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education with memberships of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, the National League for Nursing, and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioners Faculties.  The university’s Social Work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

Through the MCP, the university offers online associate’s degrees in Accounting, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, Military Studies, Justice Administration, Mathematics, Supervisory Leadership and General Studies.  Bachelor’s degrees may be obtained online in Justice Administration, Psychology, Computer Science, and Diplomacy and Military Studies. The school also offers Business Administration degrees in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Finance, General Business, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management and Marketing, in addition to a graduate degree in Masters of Business Administration that is tailored to help students complete it within twenty-four months. Qualifying students can choose to take the above coursework online, on base or a combination of the two.
