Corban University is a private, four-year, not for profit, Baptist institution located in Salem, Oregon that was founded in 1935.


Corban was originally the Western Baptist Bible College in Arizona. The college relocated to Salem, Oregon in 1969 and changed its name to Corban College in 2005. Corban in Hebrew means “a gift dedicated to God.” Not shortly after their final move to Oregon, Corban University introduced liberal arts courses in addition to the already established ministry programs. In the early 2000s, Corban received generous donations up to around $2.1 million go to towards a new performing arts center and chapel. Corban also added a graduate school to further their development as one of the upcoming leaders in Christian education. Though Corban is affiliated with the Baptist Church, they consider themselves a Christian university and welcome all members of the Christian faith.

Corban Universities Teams, nicknamed The Warriors, are part of the National Association of Collegiate Athletics. Corban offers many athletics in both female and male sports including baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, swimming, volleyball and track and field. Corban also offers many clubs and organizations for students to get involved.

Due to their Christian background, Corban offers undergraduate degree programs in Bible Studies and Ministry. Corban also offers an Associate and Bachelor of Arts and Science degree options in many different programs including Business, Health Science, Education, Music, English, Mathematics, Psychology and Social Science. Corban also offers graduate programs in Education, Business, Ministry and Counseling. Corban has adult degree programs as well. Corban University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. The institution is also a member of the Association of Christian Schools International.

The application process is made easier and more convenient through an online application for both the undergraduate and graduate programs. It’s a three step process. Step one is to create your own online application, step two is the complete your online application, and step three is to submit your Christian character reference. About 34 percent of prospective students who apply are admitted and around 24 percent of those students actually attend.


The tuition at Corban University for a traditional undergraduate student is around $26,431, not including room and board. Corban aims to offer a Christian education full of academic and spiritual growth. Many financial aid programs to widen this opportunity to more students. Corban students are eligible for federal and state aid programs as well as institution programs. Financial aid comes through the form of scholarships, grants or loans. Around 77 percent of the student population is white and 62 percent is female. Of the prospective students, about 34 percent are admitted and 24 percent of those prospective students actually enroll.
