Program Details

At Rasmussen University, our Paralegal Certificate is designed for students who already have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and want to pursue a career in the fast-paced legal industry. In as few as eight months, you’ll train to become a certified paralegal through online instruction rooted in real-world situations, leveraging legal-specific databases and software.1 You’ll learn a variety of areas of law—from making your impact in family law to understanding modern legal issues such as intellectual property and emerging technologies including blockchain and cryptocurrency. Our experienced instructors ensure you gain the skills necessary for providing services in all phases of the legal system, including: drafting legal documents, identifying relevant information sources and navigating legal databases. Our curriculum is designed to academically prepare you to sit for the National Certified Legal Assistant/Paralegal Examination (CLA/CP Exam)—the cost of which is included in the program cost.2

1Completion time is dependent on transfer credits accepted and the number of courses completed each term.
2Rasmussen University will reimburse the application fee for each first attempt of all of the industry certification exams for which you qualify to take. Should you need to take an exam more than once to receive a passing score, you will be responsible for all subsequent exam application fees. See rasmussen.edu/SID for information about educational debt, earnings and completion rates.
