Founded in 1960, California State University Dominguez Hills is located on 346 acres in the Los Angeles area, on the original Spanish land grant, known as Rancho San Pedro. For seven generations, the Dominguez family owned the prodiverty until it was transferred to the state of California for construction of the university. Today, more than 14,000 students are enrolled at CSU Dominguez Hills, and facilities include the University Theater, Loker University Student Union, University Library, and the Home Depot Center that hosts athletic and other large events. California State University Dominguez Hills is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. In addition, various individual programs retain accreditation through agencies with programmatic specialization.
California State University Dominguez Hills maintains five colleges, including the:

Tuition for full-time California resident undergraduate students is $3,045 per semester, and $3,678 for in-state graduate students. Non-resident U.S. citizens pay an additional $372 per unit and foreign visa students pay an additional $372 per unit.
