The historic preservation and accelerated office skills certificates provide added career alternatives. Hybrid programs, of which at least 50 percent contains distance education components, are available in fields, such as: education, engineering, criminal justice, psychology, and social services.

While many online degree and certificate programs are offered completely at a distance, some of these programs may have added requirements, such as an outside internship for the management program, one-time face-to-face orientations for select courses prior to the start of the semester, and proctored exams. Bucks County Community College offers a virtual orientation session to introduce students to online formats, how to access student services and resources, and teach students how to use the Canvas learning portal.
