Program Details

APU’s Certificate in Fire Science follows the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education Model Curriculum (FESHE) as outlined by the US Fire Administration and National Fire Academy. The program can benefit a variety of professionals, such as firefighters, fire inspectors, and arson investigators.

Classes examine fire behavior and combustion, fire prevention and protection services, emergency services, and safety and survival. Students will learn how to use risk analysis for a geographical area. Graduates will be able to demonstrate the national fire flow formula for proper building protection and water supply.
