School Details

Adler University, located in Chicago, Vancouver, and with distance learning courses available, seeks to be the leading institution propagating the field of healthy communities and socially just societies.  AU encourages students to be active in social justice, advocacy, change and practice, paralleled with founder Alfred Adler’s pioneering work in several aspects of community psychology.

Online education provides master’s and doctorate degrees in health and psychology.  Each eight-week online course requires videoconferencing sessions throughout the class, allowing for collaborative engagement from professors and peers.  While the meat of the courses are primarily online, students may be expected to complete in-person practicums and internships adjunct to their practice in their local area, as well as attend a residency week at the beginning of their first and second year.

Advantages of Videoconferencing:

  • Live supervision and observation support a collaborative community practice.
  • Latest technology enables asynchronous and live conferences for seminars and group supervision during field experiences.
  • Password protected and privileged user accounts keep information private and safe.
