Nearly 700 distance learning students in an executive online MBA program at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana were surveyed recently about their perceptions of the e-learning degree program.
The graduate business students said they liked online learning because it allowed them to combine work and study. Most of the online students were older than 30, married, male, and working. They reported that the online executive masters in business administration program was a better fit with their lifestyles.
Although the online MBA students were mostly satisfied with the program, they had these complaints about their online business courses:
• Slow feedback on assignments from instructors • Heavy workload • Lack of study facilities • Confusing online learning materials
Researchers recommended distance program course designers improve these aspects of the online graduate education experience in both the executive online MBA programs as well as the other online degree programs.
