Corrections serve as the institutions where individuals found guilty of a charge will serve out a sentence. A corrections facility can be minimum or high security dependent on the severity of the crime or guilty individuals can choose to serve out sentences on weekends or house arrest. Corrections officers are the law enforcement agents trained to oversee these prisons, jails or holding facilities.
