Criminal Justice, Law, and Public Safety degree programs draw specific topics from each curriculum, as the programs of study have similar impact on domestic and societal developments. Political science is focused on the study of state, government, and politics. Political science students engage in relationships serving as the foundation for political events and conditions, while deducing general ideas and concepts about the workings of politics. Political science draws information and inspiration from economics, law, sociology, history, anthropology, public administration, public policy, national politics, international relations, comparative politics, psychology, political organization, and political theory. The critical role of public administration as a practice in addition to an academic study comprises establishments engaged in governmental activities, such as the creation and interpretation of laws and the subsequent regulations and administration of programs based on the applicable jurisprudence. The activities include taxation, national defense, public order and safety, immigration services, foreign affairs, international assistance and the proper administration of government programs.

Criminal justice is a sought after career field by many professionals, and contributes to the safety and protection of a society. The multi-faceted program of study will introduce students to concepts of law creation, court systems, policing procedures, correction facilities in addition to the academic curriculum needed for a broad depth and breadth understanding of the discipline. A foundation in criminal justice will consist of a student learning the goals associated with enforcing laws, reducing crime, providing security and punishing those who infringe on established rules.

Graduates will use the learned foundations of a degree in the social science, especially in political science, sociology and criminal justice to enter careers as policy makers, lawyers, educators, business managers, government organizations and social workers. Successful students can pursue additional education in other concentrations to expand the core knowledge and become specialized in specific areas. Students may wish to become part of social groups to better comprehend the variance of ideas and considerable topics.
