These rankings were calculated by comparing publicly posted tuition and distance education fees at 49 regionally accredited and regional candidate universities in the U.S that offer 133 master’s degrees through distance education in the career areas of healthcare and nursing. This is a ranking of the least expensive online master’s. Colleges do not pay to be included in these rankings. 

To appear on GetEducated’s Best Buy list the degrees profiled must objectively cost less than the average cost of all the degrees surveyed in the comprehensive data set. The average cost for this data set was: $20,948

Rankings are based on a Spring 2008 survey of regionally accredited and regional candidate master's degrees in healthcare and nursing. Costs were valid at the time of collection (Spring 2008).
