Western Carolina University (NC) ranks #1 on the Get Educated "Best Buy" list for its online bachelors in criminal justice. Online learners who are North Carolina residents pay a low rate of about $14,000 for this distance degree. (Out of state students pay considerably more at $52,480).
Fort Hays State University (KS) ranks #2 overall—#1 as the least expensive online college for justice students nationwide—for its bachelor of science in justice. The Fort Hays distance bachelor degree costs about $21,576 for online students nationwide, regardless of their state of residency. By comparison, the average cost for an online degree in the justice, police, security or legal major area rings in at $44,800—double the cost charged by low-cost leaders Fort Hays and Western Carolina.
At $68,400, the University of Phoenix Online ranks among the top least affordable online colleges in the survey.
