Western Governors University offers several military scholarships for online college.

WGU Reservists and National Guard Scholarships

These scholarships of up to $1,500 are designed to help members of the Reserves or National Guard attend college online to earn bachelor's or master's degrees in business, information technology, teacher education or healthcare.

WGU Recognition for Military Sacrifice Scholarships

These scholarships of up to $2,000 are set aside for severely injured service members and their spouses, as well as spouses of service members killed in action. These scholarships are available to use towards any WGU online degree program.

Troops to Teachers Supplemental Scholarship

The Troops to Teachers program by the U.S. military awards up to $5,000 for teacher certification expenses for eligible students who agree to teach for three years in "high-need" areas, plus a $10,000 stipend if the veteran then chooses to teach in a low-income area.

WGU offers $1,500 scholarships to supplement the standard Troops to Teachers stipend.

Military Spouses to Graduates Scholarship

WGU is pleased to offer distance learning scholarships valued up to $1,500 available to military spouses looking to earn a WGU degree in information technology, business, health professions or education.

Spouses to Teachers Supplemental Scholarship

The Spouses to Teachers pilot program by the U.S. military offers $600 in financial assistance for certification exams to eligible military spouses in 14 states.

WGU offers scholarships valued up to $1,500 that can be used to supplement the Spouses to Teachers program. This online scholarship is open to all military spouses, including those outside of the 14 pilot states involved in the Spouses to Teachers program.
