Financial Aid and Scholarships for the Military
You served your country, now get the money you deserve to continue your education with the GetEducated.com financial aid database.
If you are married to a service member, you may be eligible for online education scholarships awarded by the National Military Family Association.
Similar to the GetEducated.com scholarship program, the association awards several $500 to $1,000 scholarships each year. The Joanne Holbrook Patton Military Spouse Scholarships are awarded to military spouses (including veterans, active-duty soldiers, and National Guard and Reservists). They can be used for spouses who are obtaining professional certification or to attend post-secondary or graduate online schools.
Scholarships for military spouses and dependents could add up to $6,000 in free education money from the U.S. government.
In May 2009, the Department of Defense enacted the Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) program. This initiative pays up to $6,000 for post-secondary education (including distance learning), training, tuition, licensing and credentialing.
You are eligible to receive this benefit if you are a military spouse whose husband or wife has at least one year remaining on active duty and if you are pursuing education, training, or credentialing leading to employment in a "portable career field."
Portable career fields are defined by the Department of Defense as: health services, information technology, financial services, trades, business/management, hospitality, homeland security, human resources, legal and education.

These scholarships of up to $1,500 are designed to help members of the Reserves or National Guard attend college online to earn bachelor's or master's degrees in business, information technology, teacher education or healthcare.
