State Colleges Online Highly Ranked for Consumer Affordability
Fort Hays State University (KS) rated number one on the Get Educated Best Buy list for their low cost online masters degree in liberal studies with a major in criminal justice. Online graduate students nationwide will pay just over $7,000 for this state college degree online.
New Mexico State University (NM) ranked number two at $10,318. American Public University (WV), a private school, rated as the third most affordable online masters degree for justice professionals at $11,700.
By comparison, the online education reviewers found that the average cost for a distance masters degree in justice studies rang at just over $19,700.
The Get Educated college cost rankings are based on a comprehensive higher education survey of 30 regionally accredited universities that offer 44 online masters in criminal justice.
The online degree experts reviewed graduate degrees targeted to those employed in security, police enforcement, law enforcement, paralegal careers, criminology, corrections, probation, homeland security, forensics, and cyber security.
Biggest Not the Best for Affordable Online Degrees
The University of Phoenix, America's largest for-profit online college system, failed to make the Get Educated Best Buy list. Phoenix ranked as one of the most expensive online degrees for jobs in criminal justice. A master's of administration in criminal justice through distance learning at Phoenix costs just over $25,700; that's almost five times more than Ft. Hays State, the top ranked best buy on the Get Educated list.
Boston University, a private, non-profit school, rated as the most expensive online masters in justice degree at just over $31,800.
