Oct. 12, 2010, Essex Junction, VT—GetEducated.com, http://www.geteducated.com, has released its affordability rankings for nursing degrees online. The online education research firm’s “Best Buy” awards for online nursing masters are based on a review of 24 graduate schools (regionally accredited) that offer 44 different distance nursing masters.
GetEducated’s online education review team found the average cost for an online nursing masters, including tuition and distance learning fees, was $20,536.01.
The reviewers ranked Indiana State University (ISU) as the No. 1 most affordable distance degree for students seeking a nursing education online. Online students nationwide will pay a low cost of about $10,996 for a distance masters from the Indiana state school.
Among nursing degrees online, Lamar University, a state school in Texas, ranked as the No. 2 most affordable online nursing school for its Master of Science Nursing ($11,005 for state residents; $22,475 for others). Jacksonville State University (Alabama) ranked as a #3 Best Buy for its distance Master of Science in Nursing/Clinical Nurse Specialist.
The University of Delaware’s distance learning division offered the least affordable online nursing masters degrees in the survey at an estimated cost of just over $42,000 for either a Master of Science Nursing/Adult Health or a Master of Science Nursing/Pediatrics.
