Affordable Online Masters Management|Get Educated Best Buy BadgeGetEducated.com, an online learning group that ranks online universities for cost and reputation, has released their 2012 rankings of the best values among online learning degree programs for professionals in business management careers. The ranking list, Best Online Management Master’s for Affordability is designed to help business professionals comparison shop for the best management education online.

The rankings are based on a comprehensive review of 63 accredited (regional) business schools that offer 93 different management master’s through online learning.

Amberton University (TX) ranks as the #1 most affordable elearning degree for business students hoping to launch management careers. Ambeton’s Online Masters of Science in Managerial Science is available for $8,460 to students nationwide. The most expensive online learning master’s, an International Management degree, comes from Purdue University (Indiana). The Purdue program charges $66,300 in tuition and online learning fees. By comparison, the average cost for an online master’s (regionally accredited) came in at $23,204.

Non-Profit Universities Offer 91% of Online Management Degrees

“Non-profit universities dominant online learning when it comes to range of offerings and affordability,” says Vicky Phillips, who founded GetEducated.com so consumers could find trustworthy data about online learning. “Of the 63 online management schools reviewed by GetEducated.com, only a minority of these, 9%, operate as for-profit institutions,” reports Phillips. The only for-profit online university to make the GetEducated.com Top 10 Best Buy list was American Public University.

The rankings uncovered almost 100 online master’s in management (excluding the MBA degree). According to the online learning study, traditional, non-profit universities offering management master’s include top names, such as Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management, and Colorado State University.

“Managers do not realize the depth of master’s available through online learning,” says Phillips. “There is a perception that most online business management programs come from for-profit schools; but that perception is a false one. If you strip away the bought search engine hype, and survey all online schools, as GetEducated.com does, consumers get a much more promising picture for a range of affordable online education options.
