 Aug. 2, 2009 Online Education Comes of Age The San Francisco Chronicle reports that online education is growing -- coming into its own. The Chronicle interviewed Vicky Phillips, founder of GetEducated.com, and one of America's leading experts on distance learning for this background piece on why distance learning has grown so popular. Phillips told the Chronicle that distance learning is no longer primarily an option for older working adults, but that online education is now attracting a younger generation of college students who love living and socializing online. Younger people today—who in past years might have gone away to residential colleges—"must work full time," Phillips told the Chronicle.
